Being on a part of the Save Our Shelter expert team has been an incredible experience not only for the Michelson Found Animals brand but also for myself. My team spends endless hours working to educate businesses and consumers about the importance of microchipping and benefits of adoption which saves pets and enriches the lives they touch, said Gilbreath. “I can’t think of a better vehicle to help champion this cause than by being a part of this program.

Aimee Gilbreath is the Executive Director of the Michelson Found Animals Foundation, a Los Angeles based nonprofit focused on animal welfare. She joined Michelson Found Animals in 2008 as its first full-time employee and has been responsible for launching the Foundation’s wide range of innovative programs which include traditional and prize-driven venture philanthropy fueling science and technology research; social enterprise-based start-up businesses offering innovative products and services; and education initiatives, awareness events, and conferences ushering state andlocal policy into the 21st Century. All of this is possible thanks to generous funding from Dr. Gary Michelson and Alya Michelson.

Under her leadership the Foundation has grown has grown from an idealistic start-up with a single employee to a global social enterprise with proprietary technologies, scientific funding, and research grants that today span more than 400 B2B clients, 1 million B2C customers nationwide, 90 grant recipients and 30 strategic partners worldwide. Found Animals now has 70 staff members and over 700 active volunteers who will contribute over 50,000 hours of service in 2016.
